Indication

Bempedoic Acid is used for lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol in patients with hypercholesterolemia or atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). It is often prescribed when statins alone are not enough or are not tolerated.

Dosage:

  • Usual Dose: 180 mg once daily
  • Administration: Can be taken with or without food

Contra Indications

  • Bempedoic Acid is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease, known hypersensitivity to the drug, and those with active gout due to its potential to increase uric acid levels.
