Thyroid TherapyIndication Dosage
Hyperthyroidism:
- Adult: 15-40 Mg Daily Continue Until The Patient Becomes Euthyroid, Usually After 4 To 8 Weeks, Higher Doses Should Be Prescribed Under Specialist Supervision Only, Then Reduced To 5-15 Mg Daily, Reduce Dose Gradually, Therapy Usually Given For 12 To 18 Months
- Children: Initially, 5-15 Mg Daily In Divided Doses.
Thyrotoxicosis:
- Adults: Initially, 20-60 Mg Daily In Two Or Three Divided Doses Until Patient Is Euthyroid. Maintenance; 5-15 Mg Daily For 6-18 Months, Alternatively, Continue With 20-60 Mg Daily And Supplemental Thyroxine 50-150 Mcg Daily For 6-18 Months.
- Children: Initially, 5-15 Mg Daily In Divided Doses.
