Chloroquine Phosphate

Therapeutic Group

Anti-malarials

Indication Dosage

Chloroquine Phosphate is a medication primarily prescribed for the prevention and treatment of malaria, a potentially life-threatening mosquito-borne disease. It is also used in the management of certain autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus erythematosus. Chloroquine Phosphate works by interfering with the growth and reproduction of the malaria parasite within the red blood cells, effectively suppressing the infection. Additionally, it exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, which make it beneficial in alleviating symptoms associated with autoimmune disorders.
