Indication Dosage

Ertugliflozin is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to a class of drugs known as sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. Ertugliflozin helps lower blood sugar levels by promoting the excretion of excess glucose through urine.

Dosage:

The standard starting dose for most patients is 5 mg once daily, taken by mouth with or without food.

Lactation

  • Contraindicated or Not Recommended

Side Effects

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Genital yeast infections
  • Increased urination
  • Dehydration
  • Increased cholesterol levels
  • Ketoacidosis (rarely)
  • Orthostatic hypotension
  • Increased serum creatinine levels.
