Fat Emulsion is a sterile, isotonic emulsion that contains a mixture of different types of fats, including soybean oil, glycerol, and egg phospholipids. It is indicated for the following conditions:
- Providing a source of energy and essential fatty acids in patients who cannot eat or absorb enough nutrients orally
- Preventing and treating essential fatty acid deficiency
- Providing nutritional support in patients receiving total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
- Reducing the risk of hepatic steatosis (fatty liver) in patients receiving TPN
Fat Emulsion is administered intravenously and is typically used in hospital settings under the guidance of a healthcare provider. It's important to follow the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer or healthcare provider to ensure safe and effective use of the product
Dosage:
The recommended daily dose for adults is typically between 500 and 2000 mL/day, and for infants and children, it is based on body weight.
