Indication Dosage

Indication:

Folic acid is commonly used to:

  1. Prevent Birth Defects: Taking folic acid before and during early pregnancy can help reduce the risk of certain birth defects in the baby's brain and spine.
  2. Support Red Blood Cells: Folic acid helps your body make healthy red blood cells, which are essential for carrying oxygen throughout your body.
  3. Combat Anemia: It is used to treat anemia (a condition where you have too few red blood cells), which can make you feel tired and weak.
  4. Support Heart Health: Folic acid may also help lower the risk of heart disease by reducing levels of a harmful substance called homocysteine in the blood.
  5. Improve Skin and Hair: Some people take folic acid supplements for healthier skin and hair.

Dosage:

Megaloblastic Anaemia Due To Folic Acid Deficiency: 

  • Adults: 5 Mg Daily For 4 Mth. Doses Up To 15 Mg Daily May Be Required In Malabsorption States 
  • For children Below 1 Yr: 0.5 Mg/kg/daily, Doses Up To 10mg Daily May Be Required In Malabsorption States; 
  • Above 1 Yr: Some As Adult
