Furosemide

Therapeutic Group

Diuretic

Indication Dosage

Furosemide is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of edema, a condition characterized by the accumulation of excess fluid in the body, often associated with congestive heart failure, kidney disorders, or liver disease. It is also used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure). Furosemide works by increasing urine production, thereby helping the body eliminate excess salt and water, which in turn reduces swelling and lowers blood pressure.
