Indication Dosage

Gadobutrol is a gadolinium-based contrast agent used for diagnostic imaging procedures such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, spine, and liver. It is used to enhance the contrast between normal and abnormal tissue to help identify and diagnose certain medical conditions. Some of the specific indications of gadobutrol may include:

1. Central nervous system (CNS) imaging, including MRI of the brain and spine, helps diagnose and monitor conditions such as tumors, multiple sclerosis, and stroke.
2. MRI of the liver to help diagnose and monitor liver lesions, such as hepatocellular carcinoma, and evaluate the vascularity of liver lesions.
3. MRI of the breast to help diagnose and monitor breast lesions, such as breast cancer.
4. Imaging of the head and neck, including the salivary glands, to help diagnose and monitor conditions such as tumors, infections, and inflammation.
5. Imaging of the joints, such as the knee, to help diagnose and monitor conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and joint injuries.

Dosage:

• The recommended dose of gadobutrol for adult patients is typically 0.1 mmol/kg body weight, administered as a single injection. The maximum recommended dose for an adult patient is 0.3 mmol/kg body weight per imaging session.
• For pediatric patients, the recommended dose of gadobutrol is based on the child's weight, with a maximum dose of 0.3 mmol/kg body weight per imaging session.
