Blood Glucose Lowering Drugs, Excluding InsulinIndication Dosage
Therapy For Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus:
- Adults: Initially Tab 2.5-5 Mg Glipizide and Metformin 250/500 Mg Daily, To Be Taken Shortly Before Breakfast Or Lunch, Adjusted According To Response, Dose Higher Than 15 Mg To Be Given In Divided Doses; Maximum Glipizide20 Mg And Metformin Hci 2000 Mgperday. Use Appropriate Strength As Required.
- Children: Not Recommended.

- Tab 2.5 /500mg: Glipizide 2.5mg, Metformin 500mg.
- Tab 5 /500mg: Glipizide 5mg, Metformin 500mg.

Contraindicated In Pregnancy.

Contra Indications
- Porphyria, Ketoacidosis, Pre-coma And Coma, Severe Renal Or Hepatic Impairment, Concomitant Miconazole Treatment, Cardiac Or Respiratory Failure, Recent Mi, Alcoholism, Administration Of Iodinated Contrast Materials. Discontinue For 48 Hours Before And After Elective Surgery.
Precautions
