Indication Dosage

Memantine is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It works by regulating the activity of glutamate, a neurotransmitter in the brain, and is used to help manage the cognitive impairments and behavioral symptoms associated with this progressive neurodegenerative condition. Memantine's mechanism of action aims to slow down the decline in cognitive function and enhance the quality of life for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease.

Moderate To Severe Dementia In Alzheimer's Disease: 

  • Adult: Initially 5 Mg Once Daily, Then Increased In Steps Of 5 Mg Every Week; Usual Maintenance 20 Mg Daily; Maximum 20 Mg Per Day 
  • Children: Not Recommended.
