Indication Dosage

Tetanus Immunoglobulin is used to prevent and treat tetanus, a serious bacterial infection commonly known as "lockjaw." It's given to people who have experienced a potentially contaminated injury (like a deep wound or dirty cut) to help their body fight off the tetanus bacteria and avoid getting sick. This medicine is like a shield that boosts your body's defense against tetanus if you've been exposed to it.

Post-exposure Prophylaxis: 

By IM Inj: 

  • Adult & Children: Initially 250 Units, Then Increased To 500 Units, The Dose Is Only Increased If More Than 24 Hours Have Elapsed Or There Is a Risk Of Heavy Contamination Or Following Burns 

Treatment Of Tetanus Infection: 

By IM Inj: 

  • Adult & Children: 150 Units/kg Dose May Be Given Over Multiple Sites

  • Inj: Tetanus Immune Globulin (human) Equiv To 250 Units.
  • Inj: Tetanus Immune Globulin (equine) Equiv To 1500 Units
