Secnidazole is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of certain parasitic and bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed to combat conditions such as trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis, as well as for various other anaerobic bacterial infections like bacterial vaginosis. Amoebic Dysentery:
- Adults: 2000 Mg As A Single Dose.
- Children: 30 Mg/kg Body-weight. As A Single Dose.
Hepatic Amoebiasis:
- Adults: 1500 Mg Daily In One Or More Doses For 5 Days.
- Children: 30 Mg/kg Body-Weight Daily In One Or More Doses For 5 Days
Trichomoniasis:
- Adults: 2000 Mg As A Single Dose. Sexual Partner Should Be Given Same Dose.
