Indication Dosage

Fondaparinux Sodium is a medication used to prevent blood clots. It's often prescribed to:

• Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): This is when blood clots form in the legs, which can be dangerous if they travel to the lungs.
• Prevent Pulmonary Embolism (PE): Fondaparinux Sodium helps stop blood clots from reaching the lungs, which can be life-threatening.
• Manage Unstable Angina or Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI): It can be used to treat certain heart conditions where blood flow to the heart is compromised.

Prophylaxis of Venous Thromboembolism In Patients After Undergoing Major Orthopaedic Surgery Of The Hip Or Leg, or Abdominal Surgery: 

By Sc Inj: 

• Adult: 2.5 Mg Daily, Starting 6-8 Hr Post-operation Then Once Daily, Up To 11 Days (24 Days In Hip Fracture Surgery) 

Treatment Of Deep-vein Thrombosis And Pulmonary embolism: 

By Sc Inj: 

• Adult: Body Weight <50 Kg: 5 Mg Daily, Body Weight 50-100 Kg: 7.5 Mg Daily, Body Weight Above 100 Kg: 10 Mg Daily. An Oral Anticoagulant (usually Warfarin) Is Started At The Same Time. Fondaparinux Should Be Continued For At Least 5 Days And Until is Less Than Or Equal To 2 For at least 24 Hours. 
• Children: Not Recommended.
