50 mg PO/IV q12hr initially; based on individual patient tolerability and therapeutic response, adjust dose between 25-100 mg PO/IV BID (50-200 mg/day)
The injection may be used for patients when oral administration is temporarily not feasible; clinical study experience with injection is limited to 4 consecutive days of treatment
For partial onset seizures:
Adults and children 16 years of age and older - At first, 50 milligrams (mg) 2 times a day. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed and tolerated. However, the dose is usually not more than 100 mg 2 times a day.
Children 1 month to less than 16 years of age - Dose is based on body weight and must be determined by your doctor
