Indication Dosage
Oxaliplatin is a chemotherapy medication primarily indicated for the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer. It is commonly used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and slow down the progression of the disease. Oxaliplatin works by interfering with the DNA in cancer cells, preventing them from dividing and multiplying.
Treatment Of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (in Combination With Fluorouracil And Folinic Acid):
By IV Infusion:
- Adults: 85 Mg/m2 every 2 Wk Over 2-6 Hr Prior To Administration Of 5-fu.
Treatment Of Colon Cancer After Resection Of The Primary Tumour (adjuvant Treatment):
By IV Infusion:
- Adults: 85 Mg/m2 Every 2 weeks for 12 Cycles Over 2-6 Hr Prior To Administration Of 5-fu.
- Children: Not Recommended.
