Indication Dosage
Furosemide and amiloride are commonly prescribed medications used to treat conditions related to fluid retention and high blood pressure. Furosemide, a loop diuretic, helps the body eliminate excess salt and water, making it effective in managing conditions such as edema (fluid buildup) and congestive heart failure. Amiloride, on the other hand, is a potassium-sparing diuretic that works to balance potassium levels while reducing sodium retention, often prescribed alongside furosemide to prevent potassium depletion. Together, these medications help regulate blood pressure and alleviate symptoms associated with conditions like heart failure and hypertension.
