Indication:
Fluvoxamine Maleate is a medication that is commonly used to treat conditions like:
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): It helps reduce unwanted repetitive thoughts and behaviors.
- Social Anxiety Disorder: It can alleviate excessive fear or anxiety in social situations.
- Panic Disorder: It can help control sudden and intense feelings of fear.
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): It may be prescribed to manage symptoms resulting from traumatic experiences.
- Depression: In some cases, it can be used to treat depression when other treatments are not effective.
Dosage:
Depressive Illness:
- Adult: Initially 50-100 Mg Daily In The Evening, Increased Gradually If Necessary Up To 300 Mg Daily, Doses Over 150mg Daily Are Given In Divided Doses; Maintenance 100 Mg Daily
- Children: 8-17 Yrs: Initially 25 Mg Every Night, Increase By 25 Mg Every 4-7 Day. Maintenance: 50-200 Mg/day; Max 200 Mg/day.
Obsessive-compulsive Disorder:
- Adult: Initially 50 Mg Daily In The Evening, Increased Gradually If Necessary After Several Weeks, Up To 300 Mg Daily; Maintenance 100-300 Mg Daily, Doses Over 150mg Daily Are Given In Divided Doses, If No Improvement In Obsessive-compulsive Disorder Within 10 Weeks, Treatment Should Be Reconsidered
- Children: 8-17 Yr: Initially 25 Mg Every Night, Increase By 25 Mg After Week. Maintenance: 50-200 Mg/day; Max 200 Mg/day.
