Indication Dosage
Furazolidone, oral, is a type of medication used for several indications, including:
- Bacillary Dysentery: Furazolidone is used to treat bacillary dysentery, a type of bacterial infection that causes diarrhea and abdominal pain.
- Various Types of Diarrhea: Furazolidone is used to treat various types of diarrhea, including acute diarrhea and traveler's diarrhea, by killing the bacteria that cause the infection.
- Giardiasis: Furazolidone is used to treat giardiasis, an infection of the intestines caused by the parasite Giardia lamblia.
