Solutions Affecting The Electrolyte Balance
Indication Dosage
Dextrose 5% and Sodium Chloride 0.9% IV Solution is indicated for the treatment of various medical conditions where intravenous hydration and electrolyte replenishment are required. It is commonly used to:
- Correct Dehydration: To rehydrate patients suffering from fluid loss due to illnesses, surgery, or other medical procedures.
- Nutritional Support: To provide a source of glucose (sugar) and essential electrolytes (sodium and chloride) when oral intake is insufficient or not possible.
- Dilution of Medications: To dilute and administer certain medications that require IV administration.
- Electrolyte Balance: To restore and maintain the body's electrolyte balance in situations such as electrolyte imbalances, electrolyte loss, or as directed by a healthcare provider.

- Adults: 500-1000 Ml At One Time, Infusion Rate Should Be 300-500 Ml Per Hr (about 75-125 Drops Per Min)
