Indication Dosage
Susceptible Infections Due To Sensitive Gram-positive And Gram-negative Bacteria:
Oral:
- Adult: 250 Mg Every 6 Hours, Alternatively 500 Mg Every8-12 Hours; Increased To 1-1.5 G Every 6-8 Hours For Severe Infections
- Children 1 Month-4 Years: 12.5 Mg/kg Twice Daily, Alternatively125 Mg Twice Daily
- 5-11 Years: 12.5 Mg/kg Twice Daily, Alternatively 250 Mg 3 Times A Day
- 12-17 Years: 500 Mg 2-3 Times A Day, Double The Dose In Severe Infections
Urinary Tract Infection:
Oral:
- Adults: 250 Mg Every 6 Hr.
Prophylaxis Of Recurrent Urinary-tract Infection:
Oral:
- Adult: 125 Mg Once Daily, Dose To Be Taken At Night
- Children: 12.5 Mg/kg Once Daily (max. Per Dose 125 Mg), Dose To Be Taken At Night
Upper & Lower Respiratory Infection:
Oral:
- Adults: 250 Mg Every 6 Hr; Max: 4 Gm/day.
- Children: 25-50 Mg/kg/day In Divided Doses.
Streptococcal Pharyngitis:
Oral:
- Adults: 500 Mg Every 12 Hr; Max: 4gm/day.
- Children Above 1 Yr: 25-50 Mg/kg/day Given Every 12 Hr
Otitis Media:
Oral:
- Children: 75-100 Mg/kg/day Given Every 6 Hr.
Skin Infection:
Oral:
- Adults: 500 Mg Every 12 Hr; Max: 4 Gm/day.
- Children: 25-50 Mg/kg/day Given Every 12 Hr.
Uncomplicated Cystitis:
Oral:
- Adults: 500 Mg Every 12 Hr For 7-14 Days; Max: 4 Gm/day.
- Children: 25-50 Mg/kg/day In Divided Doses.
Bone Infection:
Oral:
- Adults: 250 Mg Every 6 Hr; Max: 4 Gm/day.
- Children: 25-50 Mg/kg/day In Divided Doses.
