Indication Dosage

Ringers Lactate + 5% Dextrose is a medical solution commonly used to provide hydration and replenish essential electrolytes in patients. This intravenous fluid is indicated for various clinical situations, including:

• Dehydration: Ringers Lactate + 5% Dextrose is administered to patients who are experiencing dehydration due to causes such as excessive fluid loss from vomiting, diarrhea, or inadequate oral intake.
• Postoperative Recovery: It is utilized to restore fluid balance after surgical procedures when patients may have lost fluids during surgery.
• Electrolyte Imbalance: This solution helps correct imbalances in electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium, and chloride, in conditions like electrolyte disturbances.
• Nutritional Support: The inclusion of dextrose in the solution provides a source of glucose, making it suitable for patients who require both fluid replacement and an energy source.
• Intravenous Therapy: Ringers Lactate + 5% Dextrose is used for intravenous administration when oral intake of fluids and electrolytes is not possible or insufficient.

Replenishment Of Extracellular Fluid (e.c.f.)to Prevent Reduced Circulatory Blood Volume And Interstitial Fluid Due To; Trauma, Scalds, Burns, And Before, During, And After Surgery: 

By IV Drip Infusion: 

• Adults: The usual Adult Dosage Is 500-1000 Ml At One Time By IV drip Infusion At The Rate Of 300- 500 Ml Per Hr (about 75-125 Drops Per Min)
