Indication Dosage
Artemether and Lumefantrine is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria in individuals of all ages. This combination therapy is particularly effective against Plasmodium falciparum malaria, the most common and potentially severe form of the disease. It is prescribed as a first-line treatment option in regions where malaria parasites have developed resistance to other antimalarial drugs. Artemether and Lumefantrine work synergistically to rapidly reduce the parasitic load in the bloodstream, alleviating symptoms and aiding in the complete clearance of the infection, thereby contributing to the recovery of the patient.
Treatment Of Acute Uncomplicated Falciparum Malaria, Treatment Of Chloroquine-Resistant Non-Falciparummalaria:
Adults:
- Cap/tab 20/120 Mg: 4 Tab As Single First Dose Followed By 4 Tabs After 8 hours of The 1st Dose, 4 Tab After 24 hours of The 1st Dose, And Then 48 hours after The 1st Dose. (Total Course Is 16 Tabs).
- Cap/tab 40/240 Mg: 2 Tab As Single First Dose Followed By 2 Tabs After 8 Hr Of The 1st Dose, 2 Tabs After 24 Hr Of The 1st Dose, And Then 48 Hr After The 1st Dose. (Total Course Is 8 Tabs).
- Cap/tab 80/480 Mg: 1 Tab As Single First Dose Followed By 1 Tab After 8 Hr Of The 1st Dose, 1 Tab After 24 Hr Of The 1st Dose And Then 48 Hr After The 1st Dose. (Total Course Is 4 Tabs).
