Indication Dosage
Conjugated Estrogen is a medication that contains a mixture of estrogen hormones derived from the urine of pregnant mares. It is primarily used to treat symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and osteoporosis. Some indications of Conjugated Estrogen include:
- Menopausal symptoms: Conjugated Estrogen can alleviate hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and other symptoms of menopause.
- Osteoporosis: Conjugated Estrogen can help prevent bone loss in women who are at risk for osteoporosis.
- Hypogonadism: Conjugated Estrogen may be used to treat women with low levels of estrogen due to a medical condition known as hypogonadism.
- Breast cancer: In some cases, Conjugated Estrogen may be used as part of the treatment for breast cancer.
Dosage:
Adult: The typical dose range for oral tablets is 0.3 to 1.25 mg daily, while the dose range for vaginal cream is 0.5 to 2 g daily for 1 to 2 weeks, followed by a maintenance dose of 1 g twice weekly.
Child: Not Recommended.
