Indication Dosage
Metronidazole is a pharmaceutical medication commonly prescribed to treat a range of bacterial and parasitic infections. It is primarily indicated for conditions such as bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and certain types of anaerobic bacterial infections, including those in the gastrointestinal tract. Anaerobic Infections:
Oral:
- Adult: 400 - 500 Mg Every8 Hours Usually Treated For 7 Days (for 10-14 Days In Clostridium Difficile Infection)
- Children 1 Month: 7.5 Mg/kg Every 12 Hours;
- 2 Months - 11 Yrs: 7.5 Mg/kg Every 8 Hours (max per Dose 400 Mg);
- 12-17 Years: 400 Mg Every 8 Hours Usually Treatedfor 7 Days (for 10-14 Days In Clostridium Difficile Infection)
By IV Infusion:
- Adult: 500 Mg Every 8 Hours Usually Treated For 7 Days (for 10-14 Days In Clostridium Difficile Infection), Infusion To Be Given Over 20 Minutes
Helicobacter Pylori Eradication In Combination With Other Drugs:
Oral:
- Adult: 400 Mg 2-3 Times Daily
Helicobacter Pylori Eradication Failure (combination, Two-week Regimen):

- Adult: 400-500 Mg 3 Times A Day For 2 Weeks
Fistulating Crohn's Disease:
