Indication Dosage

Milrinone is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) in patients who require intravenous therapy when standard treatments have proven insufficient. It is used to improve the heart's pumping ability and increase cardiac output in individuals with compromised heart function, often as a short-term intervention in a hospital setting. Milrinone may also be prescribed in certain cases of chronic heart failure when other therapies have been ineffective. 

Short-term Treatment Of Severe Congestive Heart Failure Unresponsive To Conventional Maintenance Therapy (not Immediately After Myocardial Infarction), Acute Heart Failure, Low Output States Following Heart Surgery: 

By IV Inj: 

• Adult: Initially 50 Micrograms/kg, Given Over 10 Minutes, Followed By (by Intravenous Infusion) 375-750 Nanograms/kg/min Usually Given Following Surgery For Up To 12 Hours Or In Congestive Heart Failure For 48-72 Hours; Maximum 1.13 Mg/kg Per Day
