Indication Dosage

Amiloride and Hydrochlorothiazide is a medications prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and edema (fluid retention) in the body. This combination medication works by helping the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the bloodstream, which helps to lower blood pressure and reduce swelling caused by fluid buildup. It is often used when lifestyle changes alone are insufficient in managing hypertension or edema, providing an effective solution to control these conditions and promote overall cardiovascular health.

Hypertension: 

• Adult: Initially 2.5/25 Mg Daily, Increased If Necessary Up To 5/50 Mg Daily 

Congestive Heart Failure: 

• Adult: Initially 2.5/25 Mg Daily; Increased If Necessary Up To 10/100 Mg Daily, Reduce Dose For Maintenance If Possible 

Oedema And Ascites In Cirrhosis Of The Liver: 

• Adult: Initially 5/50 Mg Daily; Increased If Necessary Up To 10/100 Mg Daily, Reduce Dose For Maintenance If Possible 
• Children: Not Recommended.
