Nicorandil is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of angina pectoris, a condition characterized by chest pain or discomfort due to reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. It is prescribed to alleviate the symptoms of angina by relaxing and dilating the blood vessels, thereby increasing blood flow to the heart. Nicorandil may also be used in certain cases to manage chronic stable angina or prevent angina attacks in individuals with coronary artery disease.
