Indication Dosage

Eflornithine is a medication used to treat excessive facial hair growth (also known as hirsutism) in women. This condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal imbalances, genetics, and certain medical conditions.

Eflornithine works by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for hair growth, slowing down the rate of hair growth, and reducing the thickness and darkness of the hairs. It is applied topically to the affected areas of the face twice a day.

Eflornithine is not a hair removal cream or depilatory agent and will not permanently remove hair. Instead, it is intended to be used as a long-term treatment to manage excessive facial hair growth in women. Eflornithine is a prescription medication and should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare provider.

Dosage: 

The recommended dose of eflornithine is to apply a thin layer of cream to the affected areas of the face and chin twice a day, at least eight hours apart. Do not wash the treated area for at least four hours after application. Improvement may be seen after four to eight weeks of treatment.
