Indication Dosage
Staphylococcal Bone And Joint Infections Such As Osteomyelitis, Peritonitis, Intra-abdominal Sepsis, Meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) In bronchiectasis, Bone And Joint Infections, And Skin And Soft-tissue Infections, Erysipelas Or Cellulitis Inpenicillin-allergic Patients:
Oral:
- Adult: 150-300 Mg Every 6 Hours; Increased If Necessary Up To 450 Mg Every 6 Hours In Severe Infection.
- Children: 3-6 Mg/kg 4 Times A Day (max. Per Dose 450 Mg)
By Deep IM Inj, Or By IV Infusion:
- Adult: 0.6 - 2.7 G Daily In 2-4 Divided Doses; Increased If Necessary Up To 4.8 G Daily, Increased Dose Used In Life-Threatening Infection, Single Doses Above 600mg To Bead Ministered By Intravenous Infusion Only, Not To Exceed 1.2 G
Treatment Of Mild To Moderate Pneumocystis Pneumonia (in Combination With Primaquine):
Oral:
- Adult: 600 Mg Every 8 Hours
Treatment Of Falciparum Malaria (to Be Given With Or following Quinine):
Oral:
- Adult: 450 Mg Every 8 Hours For 7 Days;
- Children: 7-13 Mg/kg Every 8 Hours (max. Per Dose 450 Mg) For 7 Days
Bacterial Vaginosis:
Oral:
- Adult (Female): 300 Mg Every 12 Hr For 7 Days.
Septicaemia:
By IV Inj Or IV Infusion:
- Adults: 1200-2700 Mg/day Given In Two Or Four Divided Doses, Up To 4800 Mg/day.
- Children 1 Month - 16 Yr: 20-40 Mg/kg/day Given In 3-4 Doses.
- Children Less Than 1 Month: 15-20 Mg/ Kg/day Given 3-4 Doses.
