Indication Dosage
Dequalinium Chloride is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent that is commonly used in mouth sprays and lozenges. It is indicated for the treatment of various oral and throat infections, including:
- Sore throat
- Pharyngitis
- Tonsillitis
- Mouth ulcers
- Gingivitis
- Stomatitis
- Thrush
- Halitosis (bad breath)
In mouth sprays, Dequalinium Chloride may be combined with benzalkonium chloride and alcohol to enhance its effectiveness as an antiseptic and to improve its ability to penetrate and disinfect the affected tissues. It's important to follow the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer or healthcare provider to ensure safe and effective use of the product.
Dosage:
- For sore throat, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and mouth ulcers: Spray 2-3 times directly onto the affected area of the mouth or throat every 3-4 hours, up to 8 times per day.
- For gingivitis and stomatitis: Spray 2-3 times onto the affected area of the gums or mouth lining every 3-4 hours, up to 8 times per day.
- For thrush: Spray 2-3 times onto the affected area of the mouth or throat every 3-4 hours, up to 8 times per day, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
