Recombinant Human Interleukin-11, commonly known as IL-11, is a medication used to stimulate the production of platelets in patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy for certain types of cancer, such as non-myeloid malignancies. It helps prevent severe thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), reducing the risk of bleeding complications and the need for platelet transfusions.
