Indication Dosage

Hypothyroidism: 

• Adult 18-49 Years: Initially 50-100 Mcg Once Daily (for Above 50 Yrs Age Initial Dose Is 25 Mcg); Adjusted In Steps Of 25-50 Mcg Every 3-4 Weeks, Adjusted According To Response; Maintenance 100-200 Mcg Once Daily, Taken At Least 30 Minutes Before Breakfast, Caffeine-containing Liquids (e.g. Coffee, Tea), or Other Medication 
• Children Neonate: Initially 10-15 Mcg/kg Once Daily, Max 50 Mcg/day, Adjusted In Steps Of 5 Mcg/kg Every 2 Weeks Or As Necessary; Usual Maintenance Dose 20-50 Mcg Daily; 
• 1 Month-2 Yrs: Initially 5 Mcg/kg Once Daily, Max 50 Mcg/day Adjusted In Steps Of 10-25 Mcg/day Every 2-4 Weeks Until Metabolism Normalised; Usual Maintenance Dose 25-75 Mcg/day; 
• 2-12 Yrs: Initially 50 Mcg Once Daily Adjusted In Steps Of 25 Mcg/day Every 2-4 Weeks Until Metabolism Normalised; Usual Maintenance Dose 75-100 Mcg/day; 
• 12-18 Yrs: Initially 50 Mcg Once Daily Adjusted In Steps Of 25-50 Mcg/ Daily Every 3-4 weeks until Metabolism Normalised; Usual Maintenance Dose 100-200 Mcg/day. 

Hypothyroidism In Patients With Cardiac Disease, Severe Hypothyroidism: 

• Adult: Initially 25 Mcg Once Daily; Adjusted Insteps Of 25 Mcg Every 4 Weeks, Adjusted According To Response; Maintenance 50-200 Mcg Once Daily, Dose To Be Taken Preferably At Least 30 Minutes Before Breakfast, Caffeine-containing Liquids (e.g. Coffee, Tea), Or Other Medication
