Alfuzosin is a medication primarily prescribed to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition characterized by an enlarged prostate gland in men. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and the neck of the bladder, making it easier for urine to flow and alleviating common BPH symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and a weak urinary stream.
