Endocrine Hormone TherapyIndication Dosage
Anastrozole is a medication primarily prescribed for the treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. It belongs to a class of drugs known as aromatase inhibitors and is used to inhibit the production of estrogen, a hormone that can promote the growth of certain types of breast tumors. Anastrozole is employed as an adjuvant therapy following surgery or radiation therapy to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence and as a first-line treatment in advanced breast cancer cases. It plays a crucial role in helping to manage and control the progression of hormone-sensitive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
