Indication Dosage

Respiratory-tract Infections: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 500-750 Mg Twice Daily For 7-14 Days 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 8-12 Hours, To Be Given Over 60 Minutes For 7-14 Days 

Pseudomonal Lower Respiratory-tract Infection In Cystic Fibrosis: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 750 Mg Twice Daily For 10-14 Days 
  • Children 5-17 Yrs: 20 Mg/kg Twice Daily For 10-14 Days; Max 750 Mg/dose 

Urinary-tract Infections: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 250-750 Mg Twice Daily For 7-14 Days 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 8-12 Hours, To Be Given Over 60 Minutes 

Acute Uncomplicated Cystitis In Women: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 250 Mg Twice Daily For 3 Days 

Acute Or Chronic Prostatitis: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 500 Mg Twice Daily For 28 Days 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 8-12 Hours, To Be Given Over 60 Minutes 

Fistulating Crohn's Disease: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 500 Mg Twice Daily For 7-14 Days 

Gonorrhoea: 

Oral:

  • Adult: 500 Mg For 1 Dose 

Other Severe Infections: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: Initially 500 Mg Twice Daily; Increased To 750 Mg Twice Daily, In Severe Infection, Usually For 7-14 Days 
  • Children: 20 Mg/kg Twice Daily; Max 750 Mg/dose. 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 8-12 Hours, To Be Given Over60 Minutes 

Surgical Prophylaxis: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 750 Mg, To Be Taken 60 Minutes Before Procedure 

Anthrax (treatment And Post-exposure Prophylaxis): 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 500 Mg Twice Daily For 60 Day 
  • Children: 10-15 Mg/kg; Max 500 Mg/dose, Twice Daily For 60 Day 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 12 Hours, To Be Given Over60 Minutes 

Prevention Of Secondary Case Of Meningococcal Meningitis: 

Oral: 

  • Adult & Children Above 12 Yrs: 500 Mg For 1 Dose 
  • Children 1 Month-4 Yrs: 30 Mg/kg (max. Per Dose 125 Mg) For 1 Dose; 
  • 5 - 11 Yrs: 250 Mg For 1 Dose 

Bone Infection: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 500 Mg Twice Daily For 4-6 Weeks, Increase Up To 750 Mg Twice Daily In Severe Infection For 4-6 Weeks. 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 8-12 Hours, To Be Given Over60 Minutes 

Skin And Soft-tissue Infection: 

Oral: 

  • Adult: 500 Mg Twice Daily For 1-2 Weeks, Increase Up To 750 Mg Twice Daily In Severe Infection For 1-2 Weeks. 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Adult: 400 Mg Every 8-12 Hours, To Be Given Over60 Minutes 

Complicated UTI, Pyelonephritis: 

Oral: 

  • Children 1-17 Yr: 10-20 Mg/kg Twice Daily For 10-21 Days; Max: 750 Mg/day. 

By IV Infusion: 

  • Children 1-17 Yr: 6-10 Mg/kg Twice Daily For 10-21 Days. Max: 400 Mg/dose

Content

  • Inf 100mg /200mg: Per ml: Ciprofloxacin (as Lac-tate) 2mg; 50 ml /100 ml. Infusion 400mg: Per ml: Ciprofloxacin (as Lactate) 4mg; 100 ml.
  • Tab /Cap 100mg /250mg /500mg /750mg /1gm: Ciprofloxacin.
