Indication Dosage

Diphenoxylate and atropine are medications used for several indications, including:

  1. Diarrhea: Diphenoxylate and atropine are used as antidiarrheal, by slowing down the contractions of the intestines and reducing the frequency of bowel movements.
  2. Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Diphenoxylate and atropine are sometimes used as a treatment for irritable bowel syndrome, as they can help regulate bowel movements and reduce symptoms such as abdominal pain and discomfort.

Dosage:

  • Adults: Initially 4 Tab, Then 2 Tab Six Hourly Untilcontrolled. 
  • Children Below 5 Yr: Not Recommended; 5-8 Yr: 1 Tab Three Times Daily; 9-12 Yr: 1 Tab Four Times Daily; 13-16 Yr: 2 Tab Three Times Daily.

  • Tab: Diphenoxylate Hci 2.5mg, Atropine Sulphate 25 Mcg.

Not Recommended.

Contra Indications

  • Intestinal Obstruction, Acute Ulcerative Colitis, Pseudomembranous Colitis, Crohn's Disease, Hepatic Dysfunction.
