Indication Dosage

Drotaverine is a medication used to relieve spasms and cramps in the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, uterus, and blood vessels. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, menstrual cramps, and peripheral vascular disease. Drotaverine works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase, which helps to relax the smooth muscles and improve blood flow.

Biliary Spasm, Cholangitis, Cholecystitis, Cystitis, Smooth Muscle Spasm, Urinary Spasm:

Oral: 

  • Adults: Initially 80 Mg Followed By 40-80 Mg Three Times Daily 

By IV Inj: 

  • Adults: 1-2 Amp Slowly 1-3 Time Daily. Can Also Be Administered Intramuscularly And Intraarterially In Peripheral Arterial Disease 
  • Children: Not Recommended.

  • Tab 40mg /80mg: Drotaverine (as Hci) 40mg /80mg.

  • Conditions Like Cardiac Insufficiency, I & Ii Degree Av Block, Renal Impairment, Hepatic Impairment, Myasthenia Gravis, Paralytic Ileus, Pyloric Stenosis, Toxic Mega-colon, And Prostatic Enlargement.
