Dutasteride is a medication primarily prescribed to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. BPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that can lead to urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty starting or maintaining urination, and a weak urine stream.
