Neostigmine is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder characterized by muscle weakness and fatigue. It works by inhibiting the breakdown of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is essential for proper muscle function. Neostigmine helps improve muscle strength and endurance in individuals with myasthenia gravis, making it an important therapeutic option for managing the symptoms of this condition.
