Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe

Therapeutic Group

Lipid Modifying Agents

Indication Dosage

Rosuvastatin and ezetimibe are commonly used together to lower cholesterol levels in patients with high blood cholesterol levels. Rosuvastatin is a statin medication that works by blocking an enzyme in the liver that produces cholesterol. Ezetimibe is a medication that inhibits the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine. The combination of these medications can be more effective at lowering cholesterol than either medication alone.

The usual recommended dosage of Rosuvastatin and ezetimibe combination is:

  • 5 mg of Rosuvastatin and 10 mg of ezetimibe once daily in the evening for patients who require a moderate reduction in LDL cholesterol levels.
