Rosuvastatin and ezetimibe are commonly used together to lower cholesterol levels in patients with high blood cholesterol levels. Rosuvastatin is a statin medication that works by blocking an enzyme in the liver that produces cholesterol. Ezetimibe is a medication that inhibits the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine. The combination of these medications can be more effective at lowering cholesterol than either medication alone.
Adult:
The usual recommended dosage of Rosuvastatin and ezetimibe combination is:
- 5 mg of Rosuvastatin and 10 mg of ezetimibe once daily in the evening for patients who require a moderate reduction in LDL cholesterol levels.
- 10 mg of Rosuvastatin and 10 mg of ezetimibe once daily in the evening for patients who require a greater reduction in LDL cholesterol levels.
Children: Not Recommended
