Indication Dosage

Vitamin C is involved in the production of collagen, a protein that helps to maintain healthy skin, cartilage, bones, and blood vessels. It is also important for the absorption of iron from plant-based foods, which is necessary for the production of red blood cells.

Prophylaxis And Treatment Of Deficiencies Of Vit C. Scurvy: 

Oral Or By IM Or Slow IV Inj: 

  • Adults: 500 Mg-1 Gm Daily In 1-2 Divided Doses For At Least 2 Week. 
  • Children 1 Month-4 Yrs: 125-250 Mg Daily In 1-2 Divided Doses; 
  • 4-12 Yrs: 250-500 Mg Daily In 1-2 Divided Doses; 
  • 12-18 Yrs: 500 Mg-1 Gm Daily In 1-2 Divided Doses. 

Adjunct In Treatment Of Wounds And Infections: 

  • Adult: 4-12 Gm Daily In 3-4 Divided Does. 
  • Children Above 1 Yr: 500 Mg Every 6-8 Hr 

Dietary Supplement: 

  • Adult: 50-200 Mg Daily. 
  • Children: 35-100 Mg Daily. 

Adjunct To Desferrioxamine Therapy To Enhance Excretion Of Iron: 

  • Adult & Children 1 Month-18 Yrs: 100-200 Mg Daily 1 Hr Before Food, After One Month Of Therapy
