Indication Dosage
Aspirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is commonly used to treat mild to moderate pain, fever, and inflammation. Some of the common indications of aspirin include:
- Pain relief: Aspirin can help alleviate pain caused by conditions such as headaches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, and arthritis.
- Fever reduction: Aspirin can help reduce fever by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body.
- Anti-inflammatory effects: Aspirin can help reduce inflammation in the body, which can be beneficial in treating conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Transient Ischaemic Attack/stroke:
- Adults: 50-325 Mg Once Daily.
Acute Ischaemic Stroke:
- Adult: 300 Mg Once Daily For 14 Days, To Be Initiated 24 Hours After Thrombolysis Or As Soon As Possible.
Suspected Acute Myocardial Infarction:
- Adults: 160-162.5 Mg Once Daily As Soon As Suspect Mi. Maintenance: 160-162.5 Mg For 30 Days Post-infarction.
Prevention Or Recurrent Myocardial Infarction:
- Adults: 75-325 Mg Once Daily.
Following Coronary By-pass Surgery:
Mild To Moderate Pain / Pyrexia:
- Adults & Children Above 12 Yr Age: 325-1000 Mg Every 4-6 Hr As Needed. Max: 4 Gm/day.

Contra Indications
- Active Or Previous Peptic Ulceration, Bleeding Disorders, Children Under 16 Years (risk Of Reyes Syndrome), Aspirin-containing Preparations Should Not Be Given To Children Under 16 Years, Unless Specifically Indicated, E.g. For Kawasaki Disease. Haemophilia, Severe Cardiac Failure, Severe Renal Or Hepatic Impairment, Not Recommended For Treatment Of Gout.
