Indication Dosage
Glibenclamide and Metformin are medications used together to help control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. They work by helping your body use insulin better and reducing the amount of sugar produced by your liver. This can help you manage your diabetes and keep your blood sugar within a healthy range.
Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus:
- Adults: 250 Mg/1.25 Mg Once Daily. Patients With Fasting Glucose > 200 Mg/dl; May Start With 250 Mg/1.25 Mg Twice Daily. Dosage May Be Increased In Increments Of 250 Mg/1.25 Mg At Intervals Of Not Less Than 2 Wk; the Max Daily Dose is 2000 Mg/10 Mg.
Type 2 Diabetes Previously Treated With A Sulphonylureas Or Metformin Alone:
- Initial: 500 Mg/2.5 Mg Or 500 Mg/5 Mg Twice Daily, Can Be Increased In Increments. Maxdaily Dose 2000 Mg/20 Mg.
- Children: Not Recommended.
