Indication Dosage
DTaP-IPV/Hib/HepB vaccine is a combination vaccine that provides protection against five different diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Haemophilus Influenzae type b (Hib), and hepatitis B.
The indications for this vaccine vary depending on the age and health status of the individual but generally include:
- Infants and Children: DTaP-IPV/Hib/HepB is recommended for infants and young children as a routine immunization series, typically given at 2, 4, and 6 months of age. This vaccine helps protect against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Haemophilus Influenzae type b (Hib), and hepatitis B.
- Adults: DTaP-IPV/Hib/HepB is not routinely recommended for adults. However, it may be recommended for certain individuals who are at increased risk of exposure to these diseases or who did not receive the vaccine as a child.
- Travelers: DTaP-IPV/Hib/HepB may be recommended for travelers to certain regions of the world where these diseases are more common.
Dosage:
- For infants and young children, the recommended dosage is 0.5 mL per injection, administered at 2, 4, and 6 months of age. A fourth dose may be given at 12-15 months of age.
- For older children and adults who have not previously received the vaccine, the recommended dosage is typically a series of three injections, with the second and third doses given 1-2 months and 6-12 months after the first dose, respectively.
