Nitazoxanide is a medication primarily indicated for the treatment of various parasitic infections, including diarrhea caused by Cryptosporidium parvum and Giardia lamblia in both adults and children. It functions by interfering with the growth and replication of these parasites, helping to alleviate symptoms associated with these infections.
