Gadodiamide is a gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA) used in diagnostic imaging procedures, specifically magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to improve the visibility of certain tissues and blood vessels.
It is indicated for use in:
Brain and spinal cord imaging: Gadodiamide can be used to enhance the visibility of certain structures in the brain and spinal cord, such as lesions, tumors, and areas of inflammation or infection.
Liver imaging: Gadodiamide can be used to help detect and evaluate liver lesions, such as tumors or cysts, and to distinguish between different types of liver tissue.
Kidney imaging: Gadodiamide can be used to help diagnose and evaluate kidney disorders, such as tumors, cysts, or obstructions.
Whole-body imaging for tumor detection: Gadodiamide can be used as part of an MRI scan of the whole body to help detect and evaluate the presence of tumors or other abnormalities.
