Indication Dosage
Fluorometholone and Naphazoline can be used in combination for ophthalmic (eye) or nasal formulations. They target different aspects of ocular or nasal symptoms:
- Fluorometholone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, swelling, and irritation by suppressing immune responses and inflammation.
- Naphazoline is a sympathomimetic agent, specifically an alpha-adrenergic agonist, that acts as a vasoconstrictor. It helps to reduce redness and congestion in the eyes or nasal passages by constricting blood vessels.
Indications for Fluorometholone and Naphazoline combination in eye formulations:
- Allergic conjunctivitis: Provides relief from redness, itching, and inflammation caused by allergens.
- Post-operative inflammation: Helps to manage inflammation and discomfort following ocular surgery.
- Non-infectious inflammatory conditions: Useful for treating various non-infectious ocular inflammations where a corticosteroid is needed.
Indications for Fluorometholone and Naphazoline combination in nasal formulations:
- Allergic rhinitis: Helps to alleviate symptoms such as nasal congestion, itching, and sneezing due to allergies.
- Non-allergic rhinitis: Can be used to manage nasal symptoms caused by factors other than allergens, such as irritants or infections.
- Nasal congestion relief: Provides temporary relief from congestion due to colds or sinus infections.
