Indication Dosage
Nizatidine is a medication that is used to treat stomach ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach, which helps to relieve symptoms such as heartburn and indigestion. Nizatidine is typically taken orally, either with or without food and is available in both prescription and over-the-counter forms. Benign Gastric, Duodenal, Or Nsaid-associated Ulceration:
- Adult: 300 Mg Once Daily For 4-8 Weeks, Dose To Be Taken In The Evening, Alternatively 150 Mg Twice Daily For 4-8 Weeks; Maintenance 150 Mg Once Daily, Dose To Be Taken At Night
Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease:
- Adult: 150-300 Mg Twice Daily For Up To 12 Weeks.
- Children: Not Recommended.
By IV Infusion:
- Adults: For Short Term Use In Peptic Ulcer, By Intermittent Iv Infusion Over 15 Min, 100 Mg Three Times Daily, By Continuous Iv Infusion, 10 Mg Per Hr; Max 480 Mg Daily, Should Be Given By Infusion To Patients With Cardiovascular Impairment.

Contra Indications
- Nizatidine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug. Because cross sensitivity in this class of compounds has been observed, H2 Receptor antagonists, Including Axid (nizatidine), should not be administered to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to other H2 Receptor antagonists.
