Attapulgite is a type of clay mineral used for several indications, including:
- Diarrhea: Attapulgite works as an adsorbent, binding with excess fluid and waste in the intestines, which can help reduce diarrhea and regulate bowel movements.
- Gastrointestinal Disorders: Attapulgite is sometimes used as a treatment for gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease, as it can help regulate bowel movements and reduce symptoms such as abdominal pain and discomfort.
- Antacid: Attapulgite is sometimes used as an antacid to neutralize excess stomach acid and relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, and sour stomach.
- Antidiarrheal: Attapulgite is used as an antidiarrheal to help control diarrhea.
Syrup Dosage:
- Adults: 10 Ml After Initial Bowel Movement, 10 Ml After Each Subsequent Bowel Movement.
- Children 6-12 Yr: 5 Ml After Initial Bowel Movement, 5 Ml After Subsequent Bowel Movements, Should Not Be Used For More Than 2 Days;
- Above 12 Yrs: Same As Adult.
Tab/Powder Dosage:
- Adults: 2 Tab Or 1 Sachet After Initial Bowel Movement, 2 Tab After Each Subsequent Bowel Movements.
- Children 6-12 Yr:1 Tab After Initial Bowel Movement, 1 Tab After Subsequent Bowel Movements, Should Not Be Used For More Than 2 Days;
- Above 12 Yrs: Same As Adult.
